CV Headline
For the last 25 years I have been working actively in the equine industry as a rider, BHSIT qualified instructor, coach, yard manager and director. I have trained both horses and riders from total beginners up to international levels in dressage, eventing and showjumping.
I still very much enjoy teaching the beginner and novice rider and see them progress. At the same time I believe I can bring a wealth of experience and motivation to competitive, non-competitive and professionals or people who want to become professionals. I have also trained many students going through their “BHS Stages” and have trained, competed, taught and managed, mainly in the UK, but also in the US, Bermuda and the Netherlands.
I have set up, restructured and managed stable yards with up to 20 staff and 70 horses. My duties included overseeing equine welfare, basic veterinary care, budget control, supervising and training staff and writing timetables and staff rotas. This also included organising competitions, clinics, demonstrations and workshops. I prioritize strong Health and Safety practices.
As the owner of YdJ Equestrian, I provide a service examining and assessing horses for suitability before purchase for a wide variety of clients. Due to my work as a freelance coach and consultant, I have contacts across the UK, including clients who would appreciate a chance to come for lessons, clinics or competitions.
For the last year, I have also been working in a construction hire company as an Assistant Manager alongside my freelance teaching which has very much strengthened my computer skills, invoicing, finance, contracts and other administration tasks
I am looking for a long-term position where I can be part of the growth and development of a successful equestrian centre.
