Working and riding Full time student doing SANEF Modules 1 and 2
This was a comprehensive 10 month course covering all aspects of Stable Management, Advanced Stud Management and prepares students for Modules 1 to 4 of the SANEF qualification.
I was a working student required to look after 60 or more horses by mucking out the stables, grooming, feeding, turn them out to paddocks, schooling youngsters, foal checks, handling of foals, ride polo cross ponies, farm maintenance, and preparing horses for show expeditions and sales. In addition, we attended lectures and completed written and practical examinations.
Current role - description
I am a highly qualified, advanced rider with experience in dressage, show jumping, equestrian, showing and eventing over the past 20 years. In addition, I have cared for horses including my own as well as working at a number of stables over the years.
I am in the process of completing the Animal Veterinary Physiotherapy Program at Equine-Librium College in Plettenberg Bay, Western Cape, South Africa. I have spent the last four years undertaking studies to become a qualified therapist able to promote the wellbeing of equine patients. This has enabled me to learn the most advanced technics by means of manual therapy including Massage, Mobilizations, Stretching, Myofascial Release, Electrotherapy, Cryotherapy, Heat Therapy, Rehabilitation Specific Exercises, Orthopaedic, Neurological (Pre- and Post-Surgery), Conservative Rehabilitation and Management of Neuromusculoskeletal, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Patients and Congenital Conditions. I will be completing my studies by the end of November 2016.
I am a passionate individual, loyal, and have sound skills and a warm friendly personality. I enjoy the thrill of working under pressure and thinking of innovative ways to solve problems. I sincerely believe that I am the precise young individual that your farm would seek. I always strive to give of my best at all times. I am also able to work well both as an individual and as a member of a team whilst making a professional and dynamic contribution to my working environment. I can adapt easily to different situations and I enjoy working with people and horses.
