Relevant experience
Currently working on a BHS livery yard as groom/stable hand. I perform day-to-day duties such as mucking out, turn out and daily grooming as well as dealing with clients and meeting each horse and owners specific requirements.
Previously Young Rider and Competition Groom at a private, professional Dressage yard, working alongside a professional Dressage Rider, List 5 British Dressage Judge and UKCC 3 / BHS Intermediate Instructor, receiving professional lessons on a weekly basis on my Young Dressage horse and their own competition horses. I also trained various client specific horses which were in the process for skill development.
I have developed a passion for voluntary help for those in my local community who wish to improve their personal confidence and self-esteem. I have assisted my local Riding for The Disabled (RDA) group by providing support and education to the people who attend. Their varied ages and abilities have provided me with numerous challenges. I have tremendous self-satisfaction from observing their enjoyment and helping with their skills improvement.
Worked as a freelance groom/rider for a show jumping yard, a dressage yard and a stud and racing yard. In these yards my duties were, but not limited to, the preparing of horses to competition standard, riding, maintaining fitness levels, general day to day care and monitoring closely for any changes in the horses behaviour.
