Relevant experience

i have worked on a dealers yard for one year which involved riding a variety of different horses and ponies from little cobs through to warm-bloods and sport horses.
I had to be present for all viewings for clients as i had to show the horses off to them so good custom skills were very important. i had to be present for all vetting as i worked sole charge a lot of the time so i had to be very hard working and trust worthy. i also had to excise all horses which came in to be sold and this also included competing horses in dressage and show jumping.
my daily yard duties where mucking out, turning out and bringing in horses, grooming to a very high standard ready for clients, competitions and advertising , been present for vetting's and farrier and working sole charge.

working at Ingestre stables which is ran by two FBHS where i trained for my BHS Exams i worked on the yard and within the riding school teaching from beginner riders through to staff training towards exams, this is also a BHS exam center so preparing yard and horses ready for exam days. yard duties were mucking out, turning out and bring in horses, clipping and trimming, grooming at competitions and preparing horses for competitions, keeping the welfare of horses to a high standard at all times, working very hard to a high standard but at a fast pace as this is a very big yard with a large number of horses. Riding and handling a wide range of different horses from broodmares to stallions

Camp america so working on a camp for three months in america teaching 8 hours a day to beginner and experience riders on the flat and jumping, riding and schooling horses to make sure they are safe and suitable to be used within the riding school. Preparing children for inter school competitions on the flat and jumping.
The age which i taught was from 7 -19 year olds.

Loughton Manor Riding School Milton Keynes working as an instructor teaching 8 hours a day and including one late night teaching beginners through to experience riders on the flat and jumping and also involving lead rein and lunge lessons.
teaching hen parties, own a pony days, riding holidays and teaching schools which came in for group lessons, teaching riders who are disabled and thinking of suitable excises to help within the rehab.
i got the chance whilst working here to compete and school a livery's horse for him dressage.

reason for leaving due to outsourcing the equestrian center so redundancy.
my job is teaching riding lessons to a variety off clients form international children through to adults and staff training towards there BHS exams.
teaching Pony Club and Progressive Riding Test and own a pony days.
yard duties include mucking out , turning out and bringing in horses, clipping and trimming to a very high standard, tacking up and checking safety and fit of tack on a daily basis , grooming to a high standard, applying basic first aid to horses and to know when to call out the vet and recognizing different types of lameness.
To run the yard when the director of equine is away or on days off so organizing jobs for staff which is suited to there experience and knowledge, doing lessons sheets and booking farrier and vaccinations for horses.

Current role - description

I currently work at approved BHS riding school and livery yard in staffordshire which is ran by a BHS I who is also a BHS examiner.
I teach within the riding school 3-4 hours a day which includes private, group and lunge lessons in both flat and jumping and also teaching Pony Club and BHS Progressive Riding Test with is equal to your BHS Stage 1 exam.
I also teach two working pupils who are working towards there BHS Stage 2 exam.
I teach from the ages of 6 year old's all the way through to adults and this includes complete beginners to working students because off the difference in ages and abilities it is important that you can adapt your teaching techniques to suit each individual.
my job also involves mucking out, bring in and turning out horses, clipping , trimming , bandaging , tacking up horses ready for lessons , grooming, checking tack safety and fitting on a regular basis, organizing shoeing and vaccinations for horses and filling out purchase order forms.
applying first aid to horses and recognising differnet types of lamness etc
Running the yard when the director is having days off or away on holiday so organizing staff and doing ride sheets and also been a very trust worthy member of staff
This yard is part of a boarding and day school it is important that we work to a high standard at all times and we work well as a team and work to the correct speed to enable us to get all jobs done through out the day.
