Fern Meredith

I am a hard working individual and always willing to expand my knowledge in many aspects. I am a good people person and work well in a team, however am able to perform well individually also. Reliability is my strength, as I am always on time and a perfectionist in what I do. Finally I am self-motivated.

I am currently studying a Level 3 Extended Diploma at Hadlow College. I am in my second year.

I have been riding since the age of 10 and since then I haven't been able to stay away! My heart is truly with eventing but I am always willing to broaden my knowledge.

Key Skills

Physical fitness – I have good physical fitness which means I am able to do physically demanding work
Team work – I have substantial team work experience, I have worked as a team on many occasions including when working on a yard. I am able to co-operate with other in order to get things done as a team.
Achievement – I have achieved my BHS Stage 1 exam and my riding road safety, this year I am taking my Stage 2 and Stage 3.
Working with guidelines- On the yard at college I carefully follow my supervisors instructions and the organisations procedures, I carefully follow guidelines and procedure to ensure safety of others and the horses.

Work Experience

Penny Sangster – Grooming May 2015 – May 2015
Here my responsibilities and duties were to feed the horses, muck out a few of the horses, and then the rest of my day consisted of riding due to Penny owning a busy Livery/Competition yard.
Working at Penny’s really broadened my knowledge on the eventing side of things and made me find my true love for eventing.
I also attended a one day event with Penny, this was a very good experience for me to groom for Penny.

Additional information

I have been riding since the age of 10 and have always had a passion for eventing, while being around horses I gained many skills in organisation, self-motivation and communication. I am currently studying a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Horse Management at Hadlow College and I am hoping to leave with a Distinction overall.
