Role:- Groom/Competition Groom For Family and Event Yard
Key achievements;
Groomed and owned horses ranging from yearlings to international event horses. Supporting my daughter in her career and being her groom from Pony Club to Advanced International Eventing. Managing my own and owners horses at home and at competition.
Key responsibilities on a day to day basis in this role are:-
• Organising daily and weekly diaries for the horses

• Organising farriers, vets, insurance cover and dentists when they are required. Alongside any equipment that is needed.

• Making sure all daily jobs have been done as well as making sure all the owners are happy.

• Mucking out, Turning.Out, Clipping, Exercise riding, Lunging, Competition Grooming, Plaiting, Studs, Pulling mains.

• Phoning suppliers and making sure we have the correct amount of feed. Order in more when we need it.

• Help out at the BE event Ascott-Under-Wychwood. The initial set up for volunteers, sponsors and competitors. Booking for stabling. The main role behind the secretary tent and sponsors lunches. This has also included Start Box, XC control, Dressage Writer and Judge, Showjumping control and making sure everybody is happy, whilst maintaining the yard is kept up to the best standards.Also helped out at West Wilts and Purston Manor BE Event.

• Administration work, emails, answering calls for my daughter,, ordering feed and wormers, invoices, managing accounts, writing letters, banking and wages. Entries for competitions and lessons.

• Showing potential clients round and answering any questions they have.

• Ensuring appointments are booked correctly via our systems.

• Competition Grooming from Eventing, Dressage, Pony/Riding Club, Hunting, Team Chase, Showjumping all over the UK.

• Licensed to drive 7.5tonne horse lorry which was driven on a regular basis. Having also towed trailers and driven 3.5 tonne horse boxes too

• Organising holiday cover

• Help with young stock including on ground hands when breaking in.

• Supported and Groomed for girls on the yard ranging from pony club up to international riders

• Support on the group when jumping
