Most recently, I have been on a gap year. During this time, I have ridden in Northern Spain, walked around New York and cycled from Salzburg to the Hook of Holland. Prior to this, I was working at a riding school in Oxfordshire, coaching riders of all ages in equitation and training horses of differing standards to Medium level dressage and over metre fences, through application of traditional methods combined with my own research. I also provided horse training and riding lessons on a freelance basis. I pride myself in my clear explanations in relatable terms, well prepared lessons and high standards of tuition. I passed my Preliminary Teaching Test with distinction and very positive comments from the examiner. I will continue working towards becoming a British Horse Society Assistant Instructor in the foreseeable future. I have completed an undergraduate degree in Equine Studies and carried out my dissertation into the effects of interval training on the riding school horse, an area little researched but fascinating to me. This research was carried out during the last year of my degree, when I also continued my studies to a high standard while working two jobs and training, competing on and caring for my then five year old horse. During my degree, I was required to carry out work experience. I spent this time working in Ireland and Spain. Working in Spain increased my knowledge of the language and I consider myself conversational in French, Spanish and Welsh. Prior to going to university, I worked in a temporary position at a local livery stables. I had left this position for only a weekend before I was asked to return. Following this, the same establishment offered me the opportunity to shadow an equine physiotherapist in order for me to continue working for them. However, I decided that I would find a degree more beneficial and I do not regret that decision. I am keen to always continue travelling and exploring; cycling; writing and taking photographs.

Current role - description
At my most recent job, I was hired as an apprentice in a dressage oriented riding stables in Waterstock, Oxon. In this role I taught riders of all ages (3 - 63); trained horses of varying standards to medium level dressage and jump approximately 1 metre; and carried out field and yard maintenance roles. Upon renewal of my contract, my boss considered me such an asset to the yard that I was promoted to solely teach customers and train horses. I have received considerable amounts of positive feedback from customers and the examiner of my PTT.
I also offer training of riders and horses on a freelance basis at present.
