Competent Rider and Groom with a high level of experience
Relevant experience
Over 10 years experience with horses, 6 working in the equine industry. I have worked at a livery/riding school (Widmer Equestrian Centre) where I carried out general yard duties, handled competition and youngstock horses, and ran unaffiliated competitions. I also worked in the office booking lessons, making phone calls and taking payments from clients.
Recently I have worked at the Hartpury College Equine Therapy Centre as a groom whilst studying at the university, handling rehabilitating competition and leisure horses including eventers, racehorses and dressage horses. I also exercised horses on the treadmill, water treadmill, by lunge and turning out the horses. I also turned the horses out to a high level ready for owner, vet and competition meetings.
I have also carried out multiple weeks work experience at Equine and Small animal Vets observing and aiding in the handling of the client animals. I have experience on a dairy farm, aiding the herdsman in the parlor and on the yard during my time at Hartpury College university.
Current role - description
I have recently graduated university with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioveterinary Science with an upper second class degree. Currently I work part-time at my family's business as a office assistant, which aids the development of communication, computer and customer service skills. During studying at university I worked part-time at the Equine Therapy centre and during holidays at Widmer Equestrian Centre as grooms/yard technicians.
