The Stables Horse Activity Centre is looking for a self motivated Assistant Yard Manager/Instructor to join our friendly and dedicated team at our very special riding centre in Barnet.
The Stables Horse Activity Centre is fully integrated riding centre for all abilities, irrespective of their emotional or physical needs. Our focus is providing a safe and secure environment for people with learning or physical disabilities to spend time and work with horses, enriching their lives. We run mix of riding therapy lessons during the week and lessons at the weekend where disabled children and young people ride with their non-disabled peers, embedding the principles of community integration. We’re a registered charity and have developed a very special place in the local community over the last 26 years.
We’re now looking for an Assistant Yard Manager/Instructor to support the Yard Manager and run lessons during the week and most specifically at the weekend. These lessons will be a mix of disabled clients and non-disabled clients, ages ranging from 6 to 65+.
You will need a positive attitude to work within the small team that supports the Stables. Experience of a busy yard is a must and experience of working with and teaching disabled clients is ideal but not essential.
You will work 5 days a week which includes weekends, with 2 days off in the week. Part time working would be considered for 3 or 4 days a week, but would include weekends.

You must have your BHS Stage 2 (‘ride & care’ minimum, ‘teach’ ideally), be enthusiastic and self motivated. You must be a competent rider and maintain a high standard of yard duties.
Required Key Skills:- Riding, Teaching, Staff & volunteer supervision, First Aid - Equine and Human, Schooling, Lunging, Bandaging, Plaiting, Clipping, Exercising
Required Experience:- Riding school, Working with children
Ideal but not essential experience:- Working with people with learning and/or physical disabilities
