1044. Groom – Private Yard

Live Out Groom is required 5 days a week for a lovely private yard in Slough. 

8 horses (3 of which are ponies) working alongside another Groom and under the Head Groom. The yard has a variety of school masters and carriage driving horses for a private family and their guests. 

The yard is busier during the Summer (June – Oct) when the family are in residence. Quieter during the winter months with less hours where possible.

Ideally a quiet but capable rider, but happy to school horses in a quiet, relaxed manner to maintain suitability for beginner and novice riders. It would be ideal if the candidate was personable and able to teach to a basic level, and at least have an interest in learning to carriage drive, if not some experience. Someone with an eye for detail, and some background or interest in top level presentation, confident handling large but well-mannered horses. 

Salary IRO £28,000 pro rata. plus very generous discretionary bonus each year, based on performance, and accommodation contribution. Sorry, no space for own horses or pets.

5 days per week, Saturdays off. Flexibility and lowered hours in down season, 28 days paid holiday, sickness allowance.
